Format and Rules
The 2007 BACA Summer League playing conditions will be applied to all 2007 BACA knock-out matches with following additions/modifications.
- All matches to start at 11 am sharp.
- The umpires will be paid $44 each. Both playing teams will be responsible for paying one umpire each. If there is pool B umpire along with pool A umpire, then pool A umpire will have $55 and pool B umpire have $33.
- The playing teams are responsible for their own lunch and refreshments.
- The first round and quarter final games will be played on the designated home ground of the team ranked higher. If feasible, the semi-finals and final will be played on neutral grounds.
- Both playing teams will split the ground fee (if any) equally.
- Rescheduling of games (except Semifinal and Final) is not allowed
- In order to represent a team in a knock-out match, a player must have played a minimum of Two (2) BACA Summer League matches as member of that team in year 2007. (Violations of this rule will result in the team being scratched from knock-out competition, and a fine of $100.00 to be paid in full by Dec. 31st, 2007)
- Failure to send umpires for knock-out matches will result in Club being scratched from knock-out competition, and $100.00 fine to be paid in full by Dec. 31st, 2007
- The matches will be of 25 overs per innings of one innings each
- Fielding restrictions will apply during first 8 overs of each innings. The overs for fielding restrictions must be adjusted proportionately if the number of overs per innings is brought down from 25
- A game is considered “played”, if both teams got to bat a minimum of 15 overs each
- If a “played” game is interrupted (i.e. team batting second has played a minimum of 15 overs) due to rain or circumstances beyond control, the team with a better run rate when the game is stopped, is the winner. Refer to notes below for calculating run rate. If the run rates are equal to three decimal points, the game will end in a tie and the result will be decided by the bowl out rule.
- Result of an “un-played” game will be decided by the bowl out rule.
BOWL OUT: An un-played or a tied game will be decided by a best of five (5) bowl outs. The bowl out playing conditions of ICC Twenty20 will be followed for this purpose.
RUN RATE:
- For calculating run rate, a partial over will not be taken in to consideration but runs scored from the partial over will be included. Further more, run rate will be calculated up to three (3) decimal points. For Example, if a team scores 97 runs in 16.4 overs, the run rate will be calculated dividing 97 by 16. Therefore, the run rate will be 6.063.
- If a team batting first fails to play out the allotted overs, the total number of allotted overs will be used for calculating the run rate. For example, if a team loses all their wickets at the score of 132 in 18 overs but the total allotted overs were 25, the run rate will be calculated dividing 132 by 25 (NOT 18). Therefore, the run rate of the team will be 5.28.
