Format and Rules
Following additions and modification will apply in addition to the 2006 Summer league rules. Results of league matches will have no bearing on the outcome of the knock out matches.
- KO-01: All Knock Out games to start at 10 am Sharp.
- KO-02: Each Club is responsible for its own Refreshment and Lunch.
- KO-03: Even though the host team is identified, both Clubs are responsible for setting up the ground. Ground fee (if any) will be split equally by both teams.
- KO-04: Each player must have played minimum of Two (2) Summer league matches as member of the club in year 2006 season in order to represent that club in knock out matches. (Violations of rule KO-04 will result in Club being scratched from knock out competition, and $100.00 fine to be paid in full by Dec. 31st, 2006.)
- KO-05: Failure to send umpires for knock out matches will result in Club being scratched from knock out competition, and $100.00 fine to be paid in full by Dec. 31st, 2006.
- KO-06: A game is considered "played", if the chasing team (batting second) has played minimum of 20 overs. Result of all "un played" game (excluding semifinal and final) will be decided by toss of a coin. Rescheduling of games (except Semifinal and Final) is not allowed.
- KO-07: If a "played" game (After 20 overs of chasing team, ex -25th over) is interrupted, team having only better run rate when the game is stopped, is the winner. Game will result in a tie if run rate is same at the time of interruption. Result of a tied game will be decided by toss of a coin.
If team batting first was unable to play the total number of allotted overs (ex - 40 overs), teams run rate for the un played overs will be calculated based on the total number of allotted overs and not the actual number of overs played.
- Example 1- Allotted Overs = 40. Team batting first plays 30 overs. Teams run rate after 29 overs = Runs Scored after 29 overs/29. Teams run rate after 30 overs = Total Run Scored /40. If game is interrupted after 31st over, Run rate of team batting first = Total Runs Scored/40 and Run rate of team batting second = Runs Scored after 31 overs/31. Team having better run rate wins.
- Example 2- Allotted Overs = 40. Team batting first plays 30 overs. Teams run rate after 29 overs = Runs Scored after 29 overs/29. Team’s run rate after 30 overs = Total Run Scored 40. If game is interrupted after 28th over, Run rate of team batting first = Runs Scored after 28 overs/28 and Run rate of team batting second = Runs Scored after 28 overs/28. Team having better run rate wins.
